Model: ART00539Bidjar Sweeping Arabesques Rug
This is a repeat of large sweeping arabesques in muted colors adorning the midnight blue field rug designed in the early 20th century that originates from the Bidjar region in northwestern Iran. Bidjar rugs, in general, are renowned for their exceptional durability and high-quality craftsmanship. The Arabesque design is a specific pattern commonly found in Bidjar rugs. Arabesque refers to a complex and ornate pattern featuring intertwining vines, leaves, and floral motifs. These patterns are typically intricately woven into the rug using a combination of bold and subtle colors. The design often showcases symmetry and precision, creating a visually stunning and harmonious composition. Bidjar Arabesque rugs are known for their dense pile and tightly woven structure, making them incredibly durable and long-lasting. They are made using high-quality wool, which contributes to their resilience and ability to withstand heavy foot traffic. The craftsmanship involved in creating Bidjar Arabesque rugs is highly regarded. Skilled artisans use traditional techniques, including a special weaving method called the "Bidjar knot" or "double knot." This knotting technique results in a rug with a dense and robust pile, adding to its durability and longevity. The border of this rug is composed of three bands almost equal in width as well as two minor borders.  The design of the rug is interpreted by our designers and the most appropriate colors to match the original are used for this rug.
